Gift & Membership Terms

We call these "gifts," not "donations," on purpose — see below for why that word matters here.
Not tax-deductible
The Forensic Scroll is currently operated as a simple business, not a registered charity or nonprofit. No gift or membership payment made to The Forensic Scroll is tax-deductible, and we will not issue tax receipts. If that changes, this page will say so explicitly, with the entity status backing it up.
One-time gifts
One-time gifts support the ongoing work of the site and receive no goods or services in return. Gifts are non-refundable, except where required by law or in the case of a clear processing error — contact us and we'll make it right.
Standing Member (recurring) tier
- Billed monthly (or annually, where offered) to the payment method you provide, until you cancel.
- Cancel any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, with no partial refund for the remainder of that period.
- Currently, membership supports the site's operation and (as they launch) grants access to member-only content. Where a specific membership benefit isn't yet live, that will be stated plainly on the membership page — not assumed.
Payment processing
Gifts and memberships are processed by a third-party payment processor (Stripe, PayPal, or a listed alternative). We don't store your full payment details ourselves — see thePrivacy Policy.
Failed or disputed payments
If a recurring charge fails, we may retry it or pause membership until it's resolved. If you dispute a charge with your bank or card issuer, please contact us first — most issues are a quick fix directly.
